Don't want to deal with the Illinois Marathon this weekend? Don't worry, our Bead Trunk Show Starts This Afternoon.

The show will take place April 26, 27 & 28 and May 3, 4, & 5 in our classroom at the shop.

Fridays, April 26th and May 3rd, we will stay open until 7pm to allow later shopping.

PLEASE NOTE: NO DISCOUNTS allowed on show beads.

Trunk show opens on Friday, April 26th @4pm to 7pm
Saturday, April 27th from 10am to 5pm
Sunday, April 28th from 12noon to 5pm

If you've never participated in a bead trunk show, the concept is pretty simple. Think of a traveling bead show where you can find all sorts of treasures, but for a limited time. Cha Cha Beads will ship a huge selection to our shop. When the show is finished, we return whatever beads remain back to Cha Cha.

This enables us to offer you a much larger selection of beads. In the Champaign-Urbana area, you will not find a larger, more complete, or fantastic selection of seed beads than you will find at this show. We hope you will enjoy ChaCha Beads as much as we do.

We've always had psychic readers and healers at the shop, including sessions with Catherine and Marlita, as well as special events, such as Psychic & Health Fairs and our popular Beach Party Fridays during the Summer. Ghost Stories & Book Signing with Author Michael Kleen: Haunted Illinois

Join us on Friday, October 21, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, when author Michael Kleen will appear for a book signing at Beads N Botanicals. (Ghost stories at 5:30pm)


Michael will talk about some of the most interesting stories and places from the area, including stories of the abandoned Chanute Air Force Base, the tragic love story of Urbana High School's tower, the ghosts of U of I, a giant snake that was seen in 1896, and more!


Haunting Illinois: A Tourist's Guide to the Weird and Wild Places of the Prairie State: For over a decade, Michael Kleen, author of the Legends and Lore of Illinois, has researched and traveled to mystery spots all over the Prairie State. Now, he has created the most organized and comprehensive guide to haunted and legendary places ever written about Illinois. Haunting Illinois is that guide. Haunting Illinois contains 200 mystery sites and 85 individual illustrations. In this book, Michael not only examines the sites, but also the hobbyists and professionals who have devoted their lives to exploring the strange and unusual in our great state. Bio:Michael Kleen earned a M.A. in History from Eastern Illinois University in 2008 and a M.S. in Education from Western Illinois University in 2011. He is the author of numerous books, including Tales of Coles County, Illinois, Six Tales of Terror, Haunting Illinois: A Tourist's Guide to the Weird and Wild Places of the Prairie State, and Paranormal Illinois. Michael has spoken about local history and folklore at conventions, libraries, cafes, schools, and colleges; and he has presented research papers at the 2007, 2010, and 2011 Conference on Illinois History in Springfield.

Foot Massage (reflexology)

Originally known as "reflex zone therapy" reflexology is an holistic healing method that involves pressure and massage of the reflex points on the soles of the feet and the palms of the hands. Reflex in this case refers to a sense of reflection or mirror image. (i.,e., the great toe represents the head). Reflexology techniques are applied to release congested energy from flowing freely to the organs, glands, muscles and cells of the body. Congested energy may be experienced through tender spots or "gritty" areas found during a session. The techniques performed in reflexology helps dissipate congested energy and breaks down the gritty deposits.

Spirit of Monticello Grand Opening Party

Just a short note to let you know I will be reading cards (five minute readings) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Spirit of Monticello shop in Monticello, Il on Friday evening, July 18.

It's a very nice shop with funky & fun t-shirts, shoes, jewelry, hats, soaps and lots of other stuff. Marie opened the shop a couple of months ago but this is the party to celebrate its opening.

The shop is on the square in downtown Monticello, on a corner. Call them at 217-762-7747.
Whether or not you can make it down on Friday evening, swing by and check them out even if it's when I'm not there. The party continues on Saturday (but I won't be there to say "hi").
